Zelenskyy: Russian advance stopped in Sumy, defenses hold strong

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during a briefing that the situation in the Sumy region had been stabilized, while battles continued in Kharkiv and Luhansk without loss of positions.
The President outlined the operational situation in the northeastern direction. According to him, in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction (Kupiansk, Kharkiv), there were no losses of positions over the past week.
Regarding the Northern Slobozhanshchyna direction, which covers the border areas of the Sumy region, the President emphasized that the enemy has been stopped. The fiercest fighting is taking place near Andriivka, Kindrativka, Oleksiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Yunakivka settlements.
"We are stabilizing our positions. What's important: there are 53,000 Russians there. The fighting is happening along the border. You have to understand—the enemy has been stopped. And the maximum depth of the battles from the border is about 7 kilometers," the head of state stressed.
According to him, Ukrainian forces have regained control of Andriivka.
In the Luhansk direction, the threat has been localized, according to the president, and in the Kostiantynivka area, Ukrainian forces are advancing along the highway.
"There is no enemy advancement there. But the fighting is intense. In the Dnipro region, battles are also ongoing, but there is no enemy progress as of today," he added.
Regarding the Dnipropetrovsk region, Zelenskyy confirmed that fighting continues, but there has been no recorded advance by Russian forces.
