Russia has confirmed a third railway incident within the last 24 hours, claiming the events were acts of sabotage and opening investigations into alleged terrorist attacks, according to the Telegram channel Baza.

Russian Telegram channels shared information that on the morning of June 1, a railway track was allegedly blown up near the town of Unecha in Bryansk region. At the time, a track-measuring train was reportedly passing through. Officials claim there were no casualties or damage.

Local social media pages, quoting railway workers, suggest that a railway bridge in Unecha may have been targeted in the explosion.

Putin sounds the alarm

The Russian Investigative Committee announced that explosions destroyed bridges in Bryansk and Kursk regions. Later, Russian media reported that criminal cases are being investigated under charges of terrorism.

The Kremlin announced that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Bryansk region governor Oleksandr Bohomaz and Russian Railways head Oleg Belozerov.

According to Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, Putin received reports on measures being taken in response to the "emergency situations."

Explosions on Russian railways

On the evening of May 31, a road bridge collapsed in Bryansk region as the passenger train Klimov–Moscow passed underneath. Russian media reported that seven people were reportedly killed and 71 injured.

In addition, another bridge collapsed on a highway in Kursk region while a freight train was passing. Part of the train fell onto the highway, according to Russian authorities.

The Russian Investigative Committee claims the bridges in Bryansk and Kursk regions were blown up.
